First Aid for Mental Health

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

We all have mental health in the same way in which we all have physical health and it is just as important! We may have times when we feel down, stressed or anxious. Most of the time those feelings pass however, left unattended they can become increasingly detrimental to our wellbeing.

Our mental health is fluid and changes with our life circumstances. Each year approximately one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health condition and at least one in six employees experience common mental health problems in the workplace. Research has shown that work is the biggest cause of stress which can stop people performing at their best.

Mental health conditions are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination and research has shown that a culture of fear and silence around mental health is extremely costly to organisations. We want to change this!

At Bear in Mind our aim is to raise awareness, break down barriers and create a positive mental health culture in our communities.

All our training will improve you personally as well as professionally, ensuring that you are best able to provide support, both in and out of work.
